As our church family grieves the heartbreaking loss of Sandra, Peter, Noah, and Layla Thatcher, we invite you to join us in the prayer below. We give thanks to God for the lives they shared with us, for the love and faith they showed us all, and for the amazing memories they leave behind. While our hearts are incredibly saddened by their passing, we hold onto the amazing hope and comfort we have in Jesus Christ.

A Prayer of Comfort and Thanksgiving

Dear Lord,

We thank You for giving us the opportunity and blessing of knowing the Thatcher family. We know that Sandra, Peter, Noah, and Layla are now home with You, dear Lord. They are joyful, renewed, and resting in Your presence, just as You have promised us.

Sandra and Peter faithfully served You and served the church. Through their faith and love for You, they raised Noah and Layla to know You as our merciful, loving, and mighty God. What a beautiful testimony of a family who loved You and shared their faith with one another.

Lord, our hearts are broken as we grieve the tragic loss of this precious family. We cannot always understand why such heartbreaking things happen, but we choose to trust You and hold onto our faith in You.

Although we mourn their absence here on earth, we can be grateful and find comfort in knowing that Sandra, Peter, Noah, and Layla are together in Your presence. They are safe in Your loving arms.

Lord, wrap Your mighty arms around their parents, family, extended family, their friends, and everyone whose lives they touched. Bring comfort to those whose hearts are hurting beyond words. Give them strength for each new day, peace in the midst of their sorrow, and the assurance that You are near to the brokenhearted.

Help us to remember the love, faith, laughter, memories, and beautiful moments this family gave to those around them. May their lives and their faith continue to be a testimony to everyone who knew them.

When the pain feels too great, remind us that You are our refuge and strength. Help us lean upon You and upon one another as we walk through this difficult time.

We thank You, Lord, for the lives of Sandra, Peter, Noah, and Layla. We thank You for allowing us to know them, love them, and share a part of their journey here on earth.

Until the day we meet again, keep us close to You and help us hold onto the hope we have through Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ mighty and loving name we pray.

About Us

Here at the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church, we believe it is essential to learn about God and His Word and to experience the reality of His presence!

We are a welcoming and close-knit bible based church, emphasizing personal salvation, water baptism, divine healing, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ. The Bible is recognized as the inspired Word of God and is our guide for faith and practice.
